Let me see if I can sum it up for you - memory is a bit foggy. The sub-par explination that you recieve as a consequence of the LucasArts philosophy of 'PUTS IT ON TEH SHELFS NAW BEE-ATCHEZ' eliminates this excellent ending almost in its entirety. most notably the tidy little endgame that Bioware had planned. Bioware was given an idiotic deadline by LucasArts, and about 30% of the game was chopped, folded, spindled, and mutilated as a result.
