I realize Windows 10 and Realtek Audio HD control panel has had compatibility issues, especially with Windows updates but am hoping someone here has had success with their MSI laptop and getting the Realtek Audio HD control panel and 5.1 drivers working. We've got up to date version of Realtek digital output driver windows 7.
Select Windows Version: Windows 10 Windows 8 Windows 7 Windows Vista Windows XP Auto Detect. There are third party options that I found, involving a patch and drivers from third party sites but I'm not keen on getting a virus and think a new laptop shouldn't need this kind of hacking. Driver File Name: realtek-digital-output-driver-windows-7.exe. I also tried uninstalling and installing the Realtek HD Audio Codec package from the chip maker's website. I already followed the instruction there for uninstalling driver (including Nahimic) and reinstalling the ones they provide. MSI support/driver page says to get the HD Audio control panel software from Windows store (i.e. The actual chipset is the Realtek ALC1220 (which supports up to 7.1).
The Realtek audio control panel (the Windows Store flavor) has settings for 'Stereo' grey and locked like 5.1 isn't supported.
I plugged the mini-toslink optical cable in and can only get stereo from it. Hi everyone! I've got a new MSI GE75/Win10 圆4.
